I was 13 years old when I knew I had true feelings for other women. By the time I was 17 I knew I only loved girls. I had went on a date with my girlfriend and my dad searched my room because he felt I was doing drugs(which I wasn’t) and found a photo an ex-girlfriend and I kissing. He flipped and I ran away with my girlfriend. I lived at her house for a few days and found out he was trying to find me for not good reasons and we bolted to a different stay to stay with my mother who was really mad about the whole situation and it was hell. I worked two jobs to stay away from her as long as possible. We left less than a month later and we moved in with my grandmother who didn’t support it for the longest time and I was able to finish high school staying there. Once we moved into our own place I made a few mistakes and my girlfriend left me. During that time my grandmother finally noticed how happy I was being gay and she let her bible thumping ways go on my case and support my decision. My friends never cared who I was because they loved me for who I am, not who I do. My girlfriend and I got back together and have been happily doing well 6 years later. I will never talk to my father again because when he met my girlfriend as my girlfriend he threatened to kill her. My mother finally expected a few years down the line but I don’t talk to her as much as normal people talk to their parents.
What I’m trying to say is no matter what think people are going to do as you come out you’ll be surprised who still loves you and accepts you and who does not. When you are ready to do it, you’ll feel it. Sometimes your story comes out in the worst way but it could be the best for you. I wish you luck with your coming out and if you need any advice on how to tell any one, please feel free to ask
